Making Your Smartphone Wearable Instead of Paying for Wearable Technology
The buzz before a piece of wearable technology releases is often deafening. Google Glass was supposed to be the Next Big Thing everybody wanted. Then, the Samsung and Pebble smartwatches, only to be outshined recently by the release of the Apple Watch. Yet, the truth is, wearable technology doesn’t replace the functionality, power, and convenience of our smartphones, just as smartphones haven’t replaced desktops and laptops. These pieces of wearable technology aim to solve a problem that smartphones already have: being able to connect to on the go.
That’s one reason we created TwistekCase. We recognize that the need to have your smartphone easily accessible will always be a priority. Instead of trying to replace smartphones, we’ve designed a case that let’s you “wear” your smartphone how you want to, where you want to.
Does this mean we’re against wearable technology? Nope. Having a watch notify you that you have a new email, text, or other important incoming message is undeniably convenient. However, we believe you should be able to reach for your smartphone securely waiting in our TwistekCase to deal with those can’t-wait emails and messages, so you can get back to whatever you’re enjoying–perhaps skiing, hiking, or traveling–and secure your phone quickly out of sight.
Because, let’s face it, a watch to nudge you about incoming messages can start to feel like the office is strapped to your wrist. We want you to be able to put your smartphone out of sight and out of mind until the moment you need it or want a “happy moment” as Gary Vaynerchuk says. Then, you can confidently reach for your phone wherever you’ve clipped it, respond without having to unclip your phone, and get back to living your life without the constant buzzes, dings and reminders staring you in the (watch) face.
